CSX

The previous company new releases do not tell us very much. Of course
here in Fort Lauderdale, there have not been any trains running since
last Thursday and Tri-Rail has been out since Wednesday, all red panic
buttons were operated before anyone had any idea just what was going
to happen.
As of Monday, Sept. 6th, both track had a layer of rust and some of the
crossings had broken gates too. Suspect that CSX will not hurry to get
things back although I hope I am wrong.
The last I knew, Tri-Rail has not set a date when they will be back up and
running again.
By contrast, the FEC removed the gate arms from most of the area
crossings and had crews out today (Monday) restoring the gate arms.
One comment, Tri-Rail should promptly take measures to control the
complete operation of THEIR trackage between West Palm Beach
(Mangonia Park) and Miami Airport. This should include the dispatching
and the maintenance. The fact that our commuter trains are dispatched
by a dispatcher in far-off Jacksonville by a freight railroad that couldn't
care less about passenger trains is totally ridiculous to me.
Will advise of any progress or lack of progress in restoration.

A freight train went north on CSX during the night Wednesday night but I
do not know whether it was the local traveling switcher or something else.
Maybe they will run their own trains but not Amtrak, I don't know.
