I am vacationing in Phoenix and Flagstaff on the way to the Grand Canyon and I am thinking about watching some trains in the area. About how many trains a day pass through Flagstaff? What about Phoenix? Is the action just Amtrak and BNSF or does UP run through these areas as well? What are some good spots to watch the trains without trespassing and get some decent photos? Thanks for the help.

Id guess Arizona is pretty much like southwestern Wyoming, as long as you don't jump the right-of-way fence and stand 100 feet from the tracks you'll be alright as far as the crews not turning you in.
