This weekend and next (June 3 through June 5), the Railroad Museum of New England, in Thomaston CT, is hosting Flagg Coal 75. While a small engine, an 0-4-0T, 75 does offer all the sights, sounds and smells of a working steam engine. The ride is along the scenic Naugatuck River, and the 75 does quite well with three heavyweight coaches.

More information is on RMNE's website, www.rmne.org. The owners of the locomotive travel with it in a motorhome, lettered 'Somethin' Special'. F.C. 75 is truely something special, and well worth making the effort to come and ride behind.
