A section of the Fitchburg & Worcester ROW north of Sterling Center, MA, and south of Chocksett Road, across Rte. 12 near the Dunkin' Donuts strip mall had construction equipment on it, felling and trees and doing other work, on 04-21-2011. This stretch was abandoned -- per p. 192 of "The Rail Lines of Southern New England" -- in 1962 by the NH. There were no signs immediately apparent to show what was the work was for, but it does provide a more open view of the old ROW and the old-school work that was required for this stretch of line.
