I'm waiting on my results from background check, after i'm cleared and hired on what should i expect? I've read some good and bad things about the railroads but nothing specific about this position.

I'm in process for that job in the Knoxville, TN yard. An NS conductor told me that there are no bac jobs on the railroad. Some might not be 'for you', but it's easier to transfer from craft to craft than it is to get on in the first place.

Just wondering because I work the diesel pit out there. Our firemen/oilers mostly add sand, clean cabs, supply cabs, do the toilet work, add fuel and throw the switches for the lazy electricians like me who do the driving.
