How much pre-Guilford MEC motive power is left? I'm aware of the 252 and 573, plus a couple of Alco switchers few other GP38s and I believe some GP7sand possibly a couple of U18Bs. I believe several GP7s were sold in the mid-90s and I can find little to no info beyond that. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Here's the beginning of my list:

GP7
573 - CSRX 573 - Active
568 - ST 15 - Scrapped
567 - ST 25 - Scrapped
592 - ST 12 - Scrapped

GP38
252 - CSRX 252 - Active
255 - CLP ??? - Active

U18B
407 - sold and put in storage
404 - sold and put in storage

S1
958 - HOBO 959 - Active
959 - HOBO 959 - Active

RS3
557 - ???

The 557 is at The Railroad Museum of New England. I am unsure if it is active, though some new paint was applied recently.

44 Tonner MEC 15 still exists, Conway scenic sold it 2 years ago.

I believe both of the ex-MEC locos, 958 and 959 are out of service at the Hobo RR,
along with two other Alco's on the property. They will be operating
two SW1000 switchers, GP7 302 and have the GP9 1921 in reserve.

I knew the baby boats ended up at CAD (couldn't remember the name of it) but wasn't sure of their status. Real shame if they are indeed gone, I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about those engines.

Another I forgot about is the 44-tonner that was sold to AVR as a parts engine (16 I believe). It (or half of it anyway) is in a private collection in Vermont

MEC 259 was rebuilt by Brookville Equipment Corp. as a BL20CG:

http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=41936

It was then sold to Central California Traction Co. and renumbered 2101:

Does NEGS own a former MEC 44 tonner? I've heard of one sitting in storage at Lakeport that was owned or was owned by NEGS. All the times I use to talk with Peter and his son, I never remembered to ask.

The U18Bs used to be in CAD, right next to the CPR Adirondack Sub. There were a few years when D&H crews changed at Rouses Point, instead of St. Luc. In the interim, I don't know where they went. I haven't seen them in the two years since returning to Montreal.

There's an old photo here of NEGS 2:

http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPictur ... id=2401247" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The photo date is listed as 2005 but I don't believe that's correct. No information is given on the heritage of the unit unfortunately.

I believe I read here also that MEC 254 also went west to become rebuild fodder, similar to 259.
