Seeing the list of stations planned for the Second Avenue line reminds me that the Lexington Avenue station spacing can be used to convert F degrees to C degrees. 96th st (actually 95) = 35C. 86th st = 30C. 77th st = 25C. 68th st = 20C. 59th = 15C. 51st (actually 50) = 10C. 42nd (actually 41) = 5C. 33rd (actually 32) = 0C. skip 28th st. 23rd st = -5C. 14th st = -10C. Much better than that stupid formula that nobody can remember.

That's a pretty interesting correlation you've found! Maybe it can be used as a Mensa-type question like the one to identify the missing element of the numeric sequence (I'm paraphrasing here) 50 59 66 72 xx 86 96 103. Several choices are provided. The answer is 79. Can't figure out the pattern? The sequence represents the order of northbound local station stops between 50th St and 103rd St on the west side IRT!
