Hello Erie RR enthusiasts!

I am a New York Central buff - I know booooo. I want to try and work the Erie's interchange with the NYC at Newburgh, NY into a layout that I am designing. I have the NYC's track diagrams but they don't cover the Erie's trackage. So I was hoping that I could get some help from you. I'm looking for the diagrams/info. on the tracks that ran up to the interchange yard as well as how the yard was layed out. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Scott

no one is going to "booooo" NYC! :)
railroads arent like football teams, I dont see how anyone can actually "dislike" ANY railroad at all!
Im a LV, Erie/Dl&W/EL, NYC, PRR, D&H, NYSW, etc etc fan..
love them all!
I dont care much about the western roads, Santa Fe, UP, BNSF..
I wouldnt say im a "fan" of any of those roads, only because I have lived my whole life in the North East..
and honestly, CSX and NS really are quite boring to me..
but why should I *not* like any of them?!
what have they ever done to me?
they are still railroads! :)

British trains bore me sensless..very boring..
people in England are rabid about them!
England has foamier fans than here!
but I certaintly dont "boooo" British trains..
im just indifferent to them..
opps..that wasnt really your question was it?! ;)
here are some maps that should help,
1946 and 1935

This is a little off the track, but Newburgh was at one time the primary interchange between the New York and New England and the Erie. The NYNE is the component road that made the New Haven a major player in East-West traffic to Southern New England. Cars were ferried across the Hudson from Fishkill Landing (Beacon). When the Poughkeepsie Bridge and Central New England came in to the New Haven family, that ended the Fishkill-Newburgh operation and everything moved over to Maybrook.
There are lots of railroad ghosts in Newburgh and Beacon.

Scottychaos I'm with you, I love all trains even them Western ones  I have all my life, my grandparents use to take me to the PRR (I think PC by that time) mainline just north of Trenton, NJ and I would sit and watch the trains go by ALL day.

Scottychaos thank you very much for those topographic maps - but I already have them. I'm looking for detailed diagrams of the yard that topographic maps don't provide. I have copies of the NYC diagrams but they don't show the Erie's yard other then a couple of tracks trailing over suggesting that it exists.

Thanks,
Scott
