Anyone know the dates that Empire Limestone was a customer on the LV at North LeRoy NY? This was west of Rt. 19. The spur to the plant was north of the mainline. Thanks.

Hi Charles !
The land for the LeRoy quarry was purchased at the end of May 1903 by the Empire LImestone Co. I would imagine that they wasted little time in getting operational. By 1904 they were already reporting accidents, which suggests to me that they were in full operation. Since they relied on the railway for getting the limestone to Lackawanna Steel, the connection would have been completed right away.

If you have any information on this company and its quarry operations, would like to hear from you as well.
