Dear Sir's

I am part of an organization of repairs of engines for EMD locomotives in Brazil and I am in need of parts and service manuals and would like to know if there is media or on paper only. If there is availability, how much? I have address in Houston, TX, for shipment.

Best regards for all.

Did you try Retam, they are the EMD representative in Brazil. I think that they are in Sao Paulo.

Hi Rick

Thanks, but Retam is my competitor and does not pass information about EMD.

You better contact EMD directly at emdiesels.com about possible legal repercussions of bypassing Retam in Brazil. I know that a lot of used equipment was purchased in the United States and smuggled into Brazil after paying a suitable import fee (bribe) and that may be why your customer doesn't have the correct manuals. I think you need to contact the EMD parts department and fill them in on what is going on.

The only exception that I know of is that an American flag vessel from the University of Rhode Island had to have a turbo changed out in Recife by Penske GM Power with a turbo shipped from the US but I'm not completely sure of that.
