It is a safe assumption that any HS grad has heard of Plessy v. Ferguson; a Supreme Court cast establishing the doctrine of "Separate But Equal" which of course was overturned during 1954 with "Brown v. Board..."

But who knew the railroad that gave rise to the matter? Guarantee you I never did.

But apparently this road lives on as part of the Norfolk Southern - and route of Amtrak’s present day Crescent.
