Hello All,

I am looking for information and photographs of the Cement facility in East Deering, ME on the SLR line to Portland.

More specifically:

Is this facility still owned by St. Lawrence Cement/Holcim?

How did this facility operate? Vacuum power to move powder cement to trucks?

What is the capacity of the two giant hoppers for loading into trucks?

Thanks!

The Ciment Quebec plant at East Deering hasn't been used for a number of years. Back during the last building boom
when China was buying all the cement it could, Ciment Quebec could make more money selling to China by the
shipload on the St. Lawrence River than trying to compete with Dragon Cement here.

A Google search reveals St Lawrence Cement went by the address '189 Presumpscot'

A search of the Portland ME assessor's database reveals just two results for 'Presumpscot'

My guess would be the property you're interested in is owned by Holcim, which is apparently a cement blending firm.

Holcim is one of the largest cement companies in the world. They're based in Switzerland, publicly-traded, have something like 70k employees. If you're looking to buy from them I'd start by contacting the Investor Relations office first- they could point you in the right direction.
