Yesterday afternoon I drove south on 476 (PA turnpike NE extension)
from where it starts just north of Scranton to Norristown.
Somewhere in the Scranton/WB area, while the road was up high,
down much lower on the right I saw a double track. Not sure if
it actaully passed under the turnpike or was just next to it.
It was not the DH (DLW) line going north from Scranton to Binghamton,
I was past that spot, and I think I saw single track there anyway.

Any ideas what I saw? If it was the R&N just south of Laflin, I didn't know they had double track. Are both in service? (Both sets of rails
were both clear
of snow, at least in the fast view I had, although I guess it could
have melted from 2 weeks ago even if was not in service).

Thanks, JS

Yes, it would have been the R&N. One track was out of service for some time but was rehabbed by Air Products because it has better clearances for large Air Products heat exchangers.
