That's something we aparently had on the "Coast Line" yesterday and the day before. That's something an ALP45dp can't do.

Done when there's plenty of ice on the wire,1st pan knock off the ice,2nd pan is the power pickup.

During the storm I noticed one ALP46 moving with a small arc where the lead pantograph contacted the wires, and no arc where the trailing pantograph contacted it.

In case anybody' doesn't know it, an ALP45DP only has one pantographh; but they ran them on the coast line, during the "blizzard" anyway.

Well an ALP-45 can rescue itself if it has ice issues.
