Here comes our first negative comment on this subject.
I have to admit we have some friggin idiots who work for the railroad. Why in the world would you knowingly let a trespasser ride on a train? Oh, I know. Because you are a lazy bum who doesnt want to miss the three hour Love Boat special on NBC. You have got to be kidding me. Union Pacific pays out over 30 million dollars a year in civil lawsuits from trespassers who are injured on our property. The same people who post here saying they don't care about trespassers on their train are the same morons who bitch because their pay raise won't cover their internet porno habit. Guess what? The family of the trespasser you let ride on your train and fell between railcars has sued UP for two million dollars and won. There is your friggin raise. Honestly, what they (*%^ are you thinking letting someone ride a freight train?
Here is a story for you.
A train crew leaving their home town knew about five trespassers riding in a gondola car but didn't care because they were leaving their home town and thought these trespassers are leaving my home town so let them ride and get out of town. In this gondola car, which was filled with grain, there is a packet of poisen to help keep rodents from entering the railcar. One of these trespassers stepped on the packet causing the contents to spill. The contents of the packet became airborne, and unknowingly to the trespassers, began to fill up their lungs. The trespassers jumped off the train about two hours later. 24 hours later I get a call that a hospital has shut down its intensive care unit due to five people who showed up with an unknown illness with four of those five having already died at the hospital. They were only able to get "Rode on a freight train." out of the last one before she died. Two of the five were under sixteen years old. Come to find out the poisen in the packets shuts down your respitory system when it comes in contact with moisture. Guess what. Theres moisure in your lungs. The parents of three of the trespassers successfully sue the railroad. The hospital also successfully sues the railroad. Five people died because of a train crew just like the ones here telling "Their Stories of Trespassers on a Train." Great job of railroading by our finest crews.
