Also possible to get a pretty good aerial view using Google Maps.

I seem to recall from many years ago it had a track in it. Was it ever used for anything? Relaying or storing trains?

Was it a provision for some future use that never took place?

Track B5 (as it was numbered) had been used in the early days of the line for storage if needed. It could hold 1 full train. From what I have been told it never got that much use as time went on.

Relays of the G (originally GG) train which terminated until recently at Smith-9th St was done by using the express tracks at the 4th Avenue station.
