Last night's episode of Mad Men (Season 3, Episode 2) had three gentlemen from what I presume was the Penn Station Development Corp. visit Sterling Cooper seeking help with a PR campaign designed to counter public outrage over the planned demolition of the original McKim, Mead & White masterpiece.

Copywriter Paul Kinsey insults the potential clients when he expresses his concern over the impending destruction of Penn Station, and it's up to Roger Sterling and Don Draper to draw the clients back in. If you didn't see the episode, I don't want to go further and reveal any spoilers. During the initial client meeting, the Sterling Cooper staff and the PRR guys review some of the opposition's posters and flyers about the project, and I guess that they are accurate reproductions.

Here is a video, "Inside Mad Men" that discusses the episode and recollections of Penn Station:

I was out of town on Sunday evening (no trains on Nantucket), and watched Mad Men on Comcast on-demand when I got home last evening.

Here is reference to the newspaper strike "why didn't we just chop it down during the strike no one would have even known the difference':

Here is the Ada Louise Huxtable writing referred to in the episode:
