Is there a book on the DL&W that has designs for electric engines? There was a book I was looking at years ago and I think it had designs for electric engines in there, but I can't find now. I know the Lackawanna had those box cab tri-powerd engines working between Hoboken and Secaucus. When I was a volunteer at Steamtown years ago, a vistor told me that the Lackawanna was planning to build a electric powered streamline train similar in design to CB&Q Zephry or UP M-10000 and the engines would be a double ended E-8, F-3 or a PA-1.

Thanks for any information.

DL&W bought two DLW AGEIR 130T Oil-Bat-Elec Transfer #3501 & #3502, 300/900hp blt 1936 These to operate on freight transfer runs between the Secaucus freight terminal and the Jersey City Yard; these had batteries, could operate off catenary when on electrified lines, and also had diesel engines that could charge the batteries. Weren't very successful and scrapped early. Some catenary was there North of West End up until the late 1970s at least. Also a GE 50-ton steeple cab electric; 4001 that was delivered in 1926.
