Seventh Street progress as of this afternoon. New crossing is in. The signal bases and I believe the masts are made by Progress Rail. The lights are WC Hayes LED lights. I believe the bell is a General Signals Type 3 Electric BellImageImage
At Dinaso Lumber, there isn't much left to knock down. I believe the structure to the left will remain for now as it's currently be used, but the site as a whole will probably be cleaned up and redeveloped at some point.Image

At Dinaso Lumber, the last structure was demolished today and the business that was utilizing it appears to be gone as well. I wasn't expecting this part to be demolished with the rest of the buildings.ImageImage

Did anyone see the Facebook post about a hy rail truck going south on the line from Red Bank? What's up with that? That's like the third hy rail on that portion within the last month and a half or so...

If anythings going on....I expect they are just looking at things that need to be fixed, etc. If the hirail truck is based at RB, then its probably easiest to get to where they want to work by hirailing, not using the highways,

Possible things they are looking into, IMHO..
1. Cars to/from Earle.
2. Car storage between earle and red bank.

There's certainly no shortage of things that need fixing on that stretch, especially the track, but I'm not sure what would go that way into Earle that can't come down via Jamesburg. For car storage, I'm not sure why they'd come out of Red Bank to look into that unless the entire portion is going to be used for storage.

Like i said before, maybe they are hirailing down from red band bc the are keeping the truck at RB overnight. You dont want to leave a truck full of tools just parked on the street anywhere...

Train ran to Farmingdale yesterday with 1888 and the caboose. Probably to pick up the tank sitting at Brick Recycling.

Coming to Lakewood today with 2005. Would've preferred the 1888

Earle to Red Bank is pretty much the entire line, that's probably minimum 10 miles. It wouldn't make sense to not try and use 10 miles for car storage.

As for coming in through Red Bank, maybe NJT would be interested in using the OOS Southern for car storage. A TON of NJT passenger cars were stranded in Bay Head during Sandy, so having a backup option would be good for them.
