Dangerous railroading on Top Gear US

Recent episode about driving the length of the Appalachian Trail in 24 hours had two of the guys drive on to a flatbed train car via a ramp . . . while the train was moving. After racing down the track bed and ignoring crossing signals.

Really hope it doesn't give anybody any ideas of a cheap way to transport your car via freight trains!

TOP GEAR in UK has done some the same crazy things(BBC America on cable),this was set up in ADVANCE,
with the RR involved. May have used stunt people for part of that show.

If I remember correctly, top gear UK once made trains from campers and played tag with Network Rail ...

Hardly "safe" from a viewers standpoint ... without a doubt very very carefully choreographed and staged with the railroad's involvement, planning, and blessing.

In the case of the GSMR and Top Gear US, there's absolutely no way the RR -- or its employees -- would risk that stunt otherwise.

No doubt this was set up in advance and perhaps with stunt drivers. But people are dumb, and I hope no one gets any ideas about racing trains to stations or trying anything like this.

Did love the ep on the BBC version when they built their own trains. What could possibly go wrong?
