Q264 was parked at CP2 last night, the lead unit, CSX 7591 was burning quite well. The crew had already abandoned ship, and was waiting for the BFD to figure out how to get back to them. Apparently the firemen went to the NS yard off of Tifft Street and could not get to where the engine was burning. Eventually with the help of the road foreman - they were able to get there and put the fire out. Appeared to be major fire damage to the unit - which is painted in the new "Dark Future" scheme.

Anyone with CSX have any idea where they might have taken this unit to? Frontier Yard?

From the TV news shots, this didn't look like it happened at Tifft. The news shots appeared to have been taken from the South Park bridge looking north, on the single line that crosses Exchange St. The reason I say this is because in the near background was the old Larkin/Graphic Controls building on Exchange.

The unit would 1st go to Frountiers engines house for evaluation, then eventually be inspected and any needed repairs made to allow the unit to be towed dead to a major rebuild facility for repair or scraping. Off hand I think it would head to Huntington, WV, or Cumberland, Maryland.
