There is also a foreman at mp 20.5 recently. Do you happen to know what's going on up there?
I recall when there was a foreman at mp 13.0 in Dumont. I took a run (by foot) up there and found PSE&G working on the substation there.
Not sure if they are still doing this there, but they were putting in new rail between 20.5 and 22 earlier this fall

I have noticed the past 4 days that the Q417 has had long strings of autoracks on the rear (40-60 cars). They have also ran several autorack unit trains, believed all symboled Q-254. Was wondering if anyone knew if CSX abolished Q-268 and have added there cars onto mixed freights (like 438/439 taking over for 702/703). Or is there excess auto cars that need transport to New Jersey. I have seen in the past, a few autoracks mixed in with mixed freight but never that many onto the rear of a train...

As of Last year, Q417 now works Bellmans, so all Bellmans bound racks go on 417. Q268 has been abolished. Q254 now runs daily right down to Doremus. L262 runs Sundays only, right to Bellmans

Waldwick thanks for the update. I had tried to do a search first of current CSX train symbols and came up with nothing that is up to date. So, as a update, Q268, Q702, and Q703 abolished. Q254 and L262 along with northbound Q271/273 are current. Q409 is now doing the Kingston drop, and Q438/439 are carrying the 702/703 cars... Is that about right?

rr503 wrote:When was Q409 cut back to Florence? IIRC, it used to go all the way to Waycross.
A few months ago (I want to say October) it was cut back to Florence,SC since most of it's train would be set off by then, and instead of running an extra train down to Waycross for only a handful of cars, they decided to end it at Florence

Forgot to post the list from Thursday into Friday, but I was out from 8:15pm-6am at CP5. Just under 10 hours and got 21 CSX trains, and all Class 1's except CN. I did get an NS on the NYSW, so it is not mentioned in this list. Very rare to get both quantity and quality trains. Usually it's one or the other lol
