Update.

They are still having a PTC problem and cannot exceed 12 MPH.

Dispatch advised them to alert Conrail maintenance and to keep them updated.

Expect SA31 to be delayed.

That's an awfull place to get stranded. No road access for maintinance crews at all.

@R&DB There’s a small parking lot at the north tip of the drawbridge but nothing on the south side until around Mataram I think.

It’s a bad situation all around. Rush hour delays for NJT and possibly a delay in service for Woodhaven and Extech.

Well, here's a first...they're shoving back to Church to get them off of the railroad.

The Coast Line is all about commuters. NJT doesn't care 1 iota about Woodhaven. I grew up next to it and my dad commuted on it for years. It's all about speed and efficiency. 100 years ago the CNJ ran Liberty Street NYC to Asbury Park in 1 hour including the ferry across the Hudson.

+Charlie, I'm pretty sure that was the reason for the grant. But today's event on the Coast LIne just underscorses it. CSAO has problems.

Luckily the ROW is largely intact (minus track). This was part of the MOM proposal from 15+ years ago.
