1751 back in service (unfortunately)

I kinda like the NYC-style schemed, honestly. I know they never went that far north but I think their presence in New England is a very unloved part of the region's history.

Interesting new development in Winter operations on the Mountain Division:

It probably helps that there hasn't been much in terms of winter weather so far this year.

Heard about the new winter notch train, reminds me of that derailment a few years back. There's a reason they never went up there! And also, I wonder why the snow trains are going to Conway instead of Attitash now.

I think the winter notch idea is great! As long as they keep running the track, the likelyhood of trouble tends to lower ...And if there are storms, people will understand if they have to cancel.

Are you talked about the one at I think its 4th Iron? That was caused I think by ice build up on a crossing. I am guessing they will keep up with snow removal so hopefully its not an issue. I think the former MEC Jordan snow plow at Waterville is eventually going to Conway. It would have been nice to see them get the former MEC double track plow the BML has. Thats the territory it once served.

Daily track inspections during the month of December would prevent that from happening, they didn't do that when they were trying to pick up the new dome car.

Snow trains going to Conway instead of Attitash might mean that not many people were getting on or off at Attitash. Anyone know?

It was fun to know that for a few years there was a for-profit point-to-point passenger train in New Hampshire, actively trying to carry passengers to do something other than ride the train, but if it didnt work out...

The winter notch train runs with 255, 252, 3 valley cars, the CP reed and the rhonda lee. Interesting to see the valley cars being used up there

But... are those "valley cars" even being used to haul passengers? According to this, they aren't...

... so that makes the cheapest adult seat on this excursion $130. First class and dome seating only. NO COACH. Who are they catering this to? That's A LOT for the average family, especially charging nearly $50 for a toddler.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Coach is bookable in the "book now" screen for normal fall Mountaineer price, seems the description hasn't been updated. Originally on the site it only had first class and dome seating but has since changed.

Also I think its one of the Ohio Central coaches not the Reed.
