Walter, do you have any specific info about what year your (great?) grandfather opened his lumber business in Chester? Was he related to a William Conklin in Chester ? Thanks in advance....Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, I can find answers to the questions you raise regarding Walter Johnson Conklin Building Supplies Company, which later became Chester Lumber. William (Bill) Detrick Conklin is my grandfather and is the son of Walter Johnson Conklin, my great-grandfather and namesake. I too would like to know the answers to your excellent questions. You are welcome to get in touch with me by sending me an email to waltjconklin @ yahoo . com (no spaces). I also highly recommend contacting Clifton Patrick, the Village of Chester historian.

Sincerely,
Walter
