According to a map at theirwebsite, Iowa Chicago & Eastern serves Kansas City, yet the August TRAINS map regarding the breakup of the MILW shows the line as abandoned from Muscatine to Washington IA.

Obviously, ICE has trackage rights over "somebody", but I know not who (and I am ex-MILW 1970-81).

Anyone?

SPV's Prairies East & Ozarks atlas shows that CRI&P and MILW shared the line from Davenport to Culver (just west of Muscatine) at that point the two parted ways only to cross at Washington. The MILW was the northerly line. IC&E now runs on the ROCK between those stations. For what it's worth, the Rock had a branch from Washington through Oskaloosa to Knoxville, while the main continued south of the Milwaukee, which it crossed again at Seymour before joining the Spine Line at Allerton.

According to "Regional Railroads of the Midwest" (just published), The ICE runs on trackage once owned by the Davenport, Rock Island and Northwestern from Clinton IA to the Quad cities. That shortline was jointly owned by the Milwaukee Road and Burlington Northern and was dissolved in 1995. A map in the book shows that ICE owns the line now from KC to Chicago
