For anyone interested in the operation of the B&O coal trestle in Rochester, the Marine History Group of the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse will present a slide presentation by Tom Brewer showing the 1912 Great Lakes Steamer FERNDALE as it arrives at Charlotte, being load with coal at the B&O Coal Docks and departing for Canada. The slides were taken in the late 1960's. It will be at the Custom House, 10 Latta Road, Saturday, November 12, 2016, 10:00 AM.

I have known Tom for many years, and can promise he will put on a show well worth seeing.

Just as a follow-up, Tom put on an excellent show, and provided a close look at how the Docks used to function. Pics both inside and outside the boats, pics from the trestle and from the boat while loading was in progress, and a look at the rail operations as well. Nice to see a part of industrial history preserved and shared. Image
