Is it merely being renewed with new components or is it being upgraded to support higher axle loads for either road or rail traffic?

Just the rails, ties, ballast and subgrade within the area of the grade crossing was replaced with new. The rail within the grade crossing is welded rail to insulated gaps for the grade crossing track circuit. The road surface between the rails and on the tie ends is asphalt. The depth of the pavement beyond the tie ends is the same depth as the pavement on either side of the crossing.

The Milford Street grade crossing was also replaced at the same time.
