The Livonia, Avon & Lakeville acquired an ex-DLW Boonton combine from the Ontario Hydro authority in 1964. It was used by construction crews working along the Ontario Northland Railroad. There appears to be no record of this car's original number when it was shipped to Canada. Anybody have any possible idea which combine could have made the trip north? It served on the LAL until it was later sold to the Gettysburg Railroad.

I know that we attempted to locate evidence of the prior car number while on the LAL.

Any trace of car number or Lackawanna lettering had been obliterated. Presumably the car had been well prepped prior to any repainting by owners subsequent to the DL&W.

"DL&W" did appear on truck castings

Wonder how many Boonton combines there were? Might be a way to narrow down the possibilities...

The search continues! :-)
