BNSF and UP operations on Christmas

I heard that BNSF and UP do not shut down on Christmas....is this true or false?

On the BNSF where I work they staged trains and deadheaded crews home for Christmas day. Around 6pm they fired things back up. I am sure in other places where they have Z trains they ran them though.
