What is this? I was reading over my grandad's old PC and Conrail stuff, and made referances to a Blue Signal. What is this. Does the nearest signal go to the color blue?

It is used by MOE (maintenance-of-equipment) crews working on cars or locomotives. It means that people are working on/around that particular equipment and is NOT to be moved for any reason.

A blue light is a flashing blue portable light or flag displayed at end of equipment or on control stand to signify people are working on or under the train, so don't move.
