I was wondering what is the best station to watch trains? I will be in Chicago with my family and wondering which station is near places where they can go while I railfan (shops, mall, etc)

Downers Grove comes to mind. There's some shopping downtown and good eats are nearby, too.

Route 59 in Naperville is near the mall and all of the "big box stores".
You will.see lots of shots from Highlands. Not many trains stop.there, but it is only a few blocks walk from Hinsdale.
