Same could be said for the Flying Yankee as well. I was hopeful to see both 3717 and 6000 in operation... 10 - 15 years later, not so much. :(

This doesn't get updated often on Railroad.net but the current information for Boston & Maine no. 3713, "America's Locomotive (TM)" is at http://www.project3713.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and at Project 3713 on Facebook.com.

The current situation with the federal government shutdown is not helping matters. A lot of contracted work is complete or near completion, but can't get delivered to the park until the park is open again. 2019 should be a good year of progress for this steam engine project.

Hi Badandy
I don't often check railroad net,, I see you did a post in June, about B&M 3713,, since the Lackawanna Wyoming group was asked by the Park service, not to do any future work on the locomotive, I believe at the beginning or end of last year..
So since then the locomotive is sitting in pieces in Scranton in the roundhouse/shop.
A another group wants to step in I don't remember the name, and HOPE to complete the restoration of the locomotive.. But I wouldn't hold my breath, Steamtown /Park service loss a lot of good experience help when they decided to cut back on how the money will be spend on the locomotive..
The experience help when elsewhere,, maybe working on other locomotive restorations,, or working elsewhere. So far quite a money has been put into the locomotive,, will she ever RUN again ?????? is anybody's guess..
I live in Massachusetts, and would like to see her back under Steam,,but without the qualify people, to do the work,, that have gone elsewhere I wouldn't hold my breath...
According to what I have read,on other websites,, dealing with Steam,, such as Railway Preservation News,, Steamtown is trying to find qualified help just to put the locomotive back together,, for display...only... I hope this answers your question.. Pat.

Thanx for the update. Agree, it doesn't good. I know the people that have donated thousands of dollars on this project must be pissed. What a big waste of money or did a lot of money go to "grease the palms" of certain people . A lot of money was donated.........
Not giving up yet,
Andy
