Ashland Mill Closed; Oakfield next??

Interesting article on the Maine Lumber industry and Katahdin Forest products in particular:

Neither mill uses rail service.

THese are pretty small operations in the big scheme of things, not rail customers, and tied to very specific issues (i.e. avaialbility of 1 minority tree species).

Oakfield....What about it? No mill of any kind there, just a log yard.
