Are the B40-8s back in service?

I was at George Elwood's site and noticed some pics dated from this year (actually 2003) of the B40-8s. I was'nt sure if those were recent pics or what. So I have to ask, is Susie-Q back running some of these units?

All four have been sold to the P&W. The 4002 is currently there with the 4006 and 4008 waiting to go. The 4004 was reported in Binghamton tonight with possibilities that it is coming east on the SU100. There has been no definate on if its on the 100 though.

Yeah i miss seeing the B40-8's on the system. I still remember chasing one of their last runs on the Southern Division. It was a late rainy friday night and my father and i chased the SU99 with a SD40-2T on the point followed by two of the B40-8's. It was a fun chase even with the rain as i grew up watching those units pulling stack trains up Sparta Mountain. If i remember right the NYSW recieved them April 1988 just two months after i was born.

A couple were on a CSX Grain Train in IL.

4006, and 4002 have been seen around Bingo.

4002- on the P&W and still painted as NYS&W 4002
4004- on P&W and painted as P&W 4001
4006- in service on NYS&W
4008- Utica being worked on

4006 there tonight.

On one of the last road trains to NJ and back the 4006 crapped out. So i think thats now in Utica. But SD40T-2 3014 was finally released and is now running. It took the last road train into New Jersey. Just to remind you all the 3014 is a snoot nose.
