Gentlemen,
My research has led me to another question on "The Little Giant", and I've found so much useful information here, so.....
As I've stated in other posts, I'm researching, and planning to model the P&LE in 1952. I'm curious, roughly how much (maybe percentage wise) of the P&LE freight traffic in the early '50s was coal? I assume it was quite a bunch, due to the roads location. Also, of that coal traffic, I know a lot was probably through traffic, but how much would have originated from online mines?
Basically, I want to model some coal mines on my future layout, maybe on a branch line, but I want to make sure how common they were on the real P&LE circa 1952.
Thanks for the info.
