First, there is no mention whatever of railroad transportation within this New York Times article, even if it does relate to distribution, working conditions, and logistics.
Even if I have never done business with Amazon (not a boycott, just no reason) for anything, it does not mean I'm unaware of the social and economic impact this concern has made upon people's lives.
Now this leads into a "definitively rail related" observation I had about a week ago.
Passing Chicago Sub MP 18.7, I observed a Westbound Container train that simply was "unreal". The consist (scrubbed BNSF C-44's leading) comprised "well" container cars (no graffiti) loaded with - honest - AZNU's on the top and JBHU's on the bottom!!!
This is simply "unreal" for day to day railroad operations. To me, it simply appeared to be a display train of MTY's moving somewhere.
Some kind of promotion between Jeff, JBH, and Uncle Warren, anyone?
