I'll be taking the lake Shore Limited in mid-May from Boston to Chicago via the old B&A and NYC. Where can I download a decent route map? Possibly one with landmark details that might also show the names of the original railroads (i.e. Michigan Central) and junctions as we near Chicago. As a railfan I want to make it an interesting trip.

Purchase a couple of ETT's issued during the 60's now on Ebay. Cost you $20 or less. Two ETT's cover the entire NYCRR between Boston and Chicago. Those have the maps location names and so forth. One ETT covers Boston to Buffalo and the other you want covers the Lake/Toldeo/Western Divisions from Buffalo to Chicago.

Thanks, guys, for the information. Unfortunately the appropriate Amtrak Route Guides have not yet been prepared for the route of the LSL. I might look for the ETTs.
