There's a posting on Amtrak for Drawbridge Operator in Newark, NJ. Does anyone know what the job entails and what qualifications they might be looking for? The description is kind of vague. All it basically said was excellent communication skills. My guess is they are probably only looking to hire one person for that job. Thanks.

They might only need one, but who knows. A friend who posts on RR.net is a drawbridge tender in Connecticut. He’s been a ticket agent for years. I don’t know if he had to change crafts to take the position, but more likely they are on the same roster. This guy is old enough to pull the pin, so I’m sure that there had to be some benefits, like not dealing with the public, since he could likely hold any job he wants.
