Just got into reading the Alvin Smith chapter in Lowenthal's LACKAWNNA IN NW NJ.

Alvin and I made some trips together to the East Broad Top, Reading Rambles, and most notably the L&H Centennial Trip. Lost contact after my military service, and moving to Northern New England.

He was the ultimate DL&W fan, with his tower in the back yard of his family's Progressive Poultry Farm on Washburn Avenue in Washington NJ. I enjoyed visiting him and his magnificent Morris & Essex O scale empire upstairs in his grandmothers barn off Railroad Avenue.

Anybody know if he is still with us in the area??

Thank you to any help anyone can give.
