Ive heard an interesting new story today, and im wondering if anyone can help..
It is said there are two Alco switchers at a Vulcan Materials facility in Hanover PA.
One operating, and one not operating.
One is rumored to perhaps be originally a Lehigh Valley unit.
(I dont think its true, the LV part, but I would like to confirm, or deny, the story.)
I can only find on-line reference to one Alco in Hanover, a former South Buffalo unit, Currently VULX No. 3:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 759&nseq=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(im not sure of it's SB heritage..im working on that too!)
anyone have any knowledge about these units? and perhaps a photo of the second one?
I would like to track down their heritage, and determine if the LV story is true or not..
thanks!
