I have four questions for a BNSF engineer. Once a 135 car coal train weighing 19000 tons leaves the PRB it is configured 2 x 1 on the Union Pacific. The train operates two AC44CW on the head-end and one AC44CW as the DP unit. The train travels the entire route with grades at a maximum of 1%. My questions are the following.
1. How many C44-9W's would it take and how would it be configured?
2. With C44-9W's do you have a hard time starting the train on a 1% grade?
3. Have you ever had a C44-9W stop loading due to exceeding the short time rating?
4. Do you prefer operating the train with AC44CW's or C44-9W's?
