A trip up the Hudson from NY to Albany on a beautiful summer day rates as epic for me, providing I'm on the left side with a reasonably clean window.

Mike: I will second that...A ride up along the Hudson River 142 miles NYP-ALB is a favorite of mine...

I read on Wikipedia that the FGLK suspended passenger excursions in 2013. If anyone has information to the contrary, please post.

FGLK has greatly reduced their excursions. They still run a few of them, but it's nowhere near the frequency of 8-10 years ago. I am waiting for confirmation of an excursion on Sat 1urday 12/10.

The Delaware & Ulster out of Arkville should also be on the list, as well as the Amtrak line along the Mohawk River.
