10 Days until the 50th anniversary of the death of the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad.
and the Birth of the Erie Lackawanna.

October 17th, 1960.

October 17th this year is a Sunday.
im going to go out and do some railfanning along the Southern Tier main (Erie Mainline) down around Silver Springs..
maybe the Portagville Viaduct..
And try to visit the DL&W as well while im down that way.

Should be about peak fall foliage! :P
Thought I would post this early, so people can plan a nice railfanning day along your favorite Erie/DL&W/EL route,
and pay your respects on this half-century anniversary.

Am aware of that. Expect something on the main site in a few days from Otto and I on that.

Yup, fifty years ago and the old timers are still arguing about which one of them was the better railroad.
