I saw that also with 48. It was shown in grey on one of the Amtrak monitoring sites ("service disruption). I think Empire Service 284 was also.

What would one do with a Lake Shore annulled in Buffalo? Deadhead later to NYP when conditions improved?

Bad news from Amtrak.

Lakeshore Limited Train 48/448 which was due to departed Chicago (CHI) on 7/28 is canceled due to unforeseen track closures. Please call 1-800-USA-RAIL for reservation assistance.

Amtrak web site does show travel today 7/29/22 on 48 but only between Chicago and Cleveland and the train is sold out (until Monday 8/1/22 departure). And starting 7/31, one can travel from Cleveland to Chicago on 49.
