And one the Trains article does not mention - no lights on meant it was a regularly scheduled train (and in the case of multiple sections of that train, it is the last section). Once a train with no class lights lit has passed, you can consider that train number as past your location. And while it says that separate class lights were only in Canada, they were on Alcos in this country too. :)
