Are there any private modelers at the 24" gauge level? If you had a sudden opportunity to use a 2' gauge track for a couple of days, could you find anyone else who would be interested in bringing along a locomotive? It would be too small to use a something like an old Maine two footer (tunnel limits for one), but do people out there collect park model trains?

cloudship-I believe that 2 foot gauge is too large to qualify as a "model" train. There are a couple of 2 ft. gauge railroads on the outskirts of St. Marys, PA using mining equipment from the region. See:

As far as collecting park models, yes, there are a number of "amusement park" type trains in operation all over the world. Here's a listing:

Thanks. It's one of those occasions where you have this fantastic opportunity, but then discover there is no real way to take advantage of. We are planning an event, and there is a park model train there with about a mile of track, maybe a bit less. Unfortunately there is a tunnel that limits the size that can fit through. We were hoping to find a way to integrate this into our event. But it sounds like there is not a lot that could take advantage of it.
