Great pics, thanks for them! It's nice to know something other than AC4400's and DPU exists.

Definitely a good set of photographs. I noticed all the NYS&W units were in the same paint scheme.

Nice to see the matching pain.. pretty neet compared to all the mixed paint they have had out there in the past.

Also I liked the Sparrowbush shot... Not often you see that many cars at once on that line.
Very cool.

I saw that train in Oakland with 3018 leading this past Saturday. Why did it have 4 engines and only 4 engines, no freight cars?

Nice pix John.

Does the 99 run in daylight every Sunday?

No, this was only a one shot deal. It probably won't happen again for several months unfortunatley. Unless the detours comes back, but that is highly unlikely!

The only reason that this ran in daylight was due to the fact all the cars were destined for NS in Binghamton. Normally it's in 3 blocks, NS Binghamton, CP Binghamton, and CSXT Syracuse.

They usually run in darkness, same as the SU-100.

As for why they ran light, it's the same reason above. They were all NS cars, and had nothing to bring back, so they ran light back to Jersey.

Those pix came out really nice.

I would have finished off the day (well after end of chase) with cold pints and steaks at the Erie hotel in PJ.

Very Nice John,
that crew must have thought they were in the twilight zone with you 2 popping up all over the place

The crew would have thought they were in the danger zone had you two donned turbans and other wares, heh?

Dec Railpace has a beautiful centerfold picture of SU99 crossing the Delaware at Mill Rift, PA on 9/30/07. I scouted Mill Rift this Fall and couldn't find a decent spot where you could park and legally get to a vantage point for a shot of the bridge. I was thinking that you might have to ask a homeowner for permission to get out to an overlook. Anyone have any experience there?
