UP gave up the lease on 54 SD60s in January 2002. These units are owned by GE Capital and were ex-C&NW. Some of these units were used by UP during 2002 as payback by GE to UP for new units not delivered.

Source Jim Harrawood's Utahrails website as supplied by Sean Graham-White with his UP roster updates. Information is most likely also available on LocoNotes.

Terry C this information is all out here, you just need to learn to dig.

Crazy_nip, if 'ol Hillary runs for President in '08, then by god you've got my vote.

Three former Conrail SD60s 6840-6842 are 20 years old and so are Norfolk Southern 6550-6553. Then of course there are those 50 other Norfolk Southern units and the 4 SD60F test beds. Sounds like a good selection.

Photo 88037 of 5967 is ex-CNW 8052, an SD60, built in September 1986.

Photo 29975 of 5989 is ex-CNW 8035, an SD60 also, built in September 1986 also.

If you click on the locomotive/number by the "Locomotive" caption, it will show you its previous history.

Also you can tell an SD50 and SD60 apart by counting the doors under the radiators. If it has 5, it is an SD50. If it has 6, it is a SD60.

More info here:

The 5967 is not listed, but the 5989 is...

The info is out there, you're just not giving enough effort....

Most of your inquiries are readily available if you'd take the time to look it up yourself! All you have to do is ask your Mommy for an extra 5 minutes of computer time.....

Sir I feel you nee to mind your own business, Mr. Paniagua. Don't aggravate Nip even further, dude. I have my little fit with him too, but I just "step back".

But I've seen a lot of Nip's anti-Amtrak stuff on that forum, he's a real pessimist of Amtrak.

Robert I am going to have to agree with Nip on this. Terry C abuses any forum he is on. He was supplied with the information about the ex-C&NW SD60s by me back in October:
