Anyone know what exactly an EMD D78-TR is?
How does it differ from a normal D78 traction motor?

EMD normally uses TR in a traction motor designation to mean tapered roller bearings for the motor support bearings on the axle as opposed to the oil-lubricated plain bearings.

What would be the difference between a D78 TR and D78 BTR motor?

Also, does EMD still manufacture these?
